1. My iPad updated in its software didn't cut it. Specifically, only iPad Mini could be read on Quicktime on the latest MacBook Pro, not the older version.
2. iPad Mini mirrored onto older MacBook Pro won't record sound.
3. Using Reflector2 app as a trial leaves a huge watermark across the screen so that nothing else shows and is useless unless you buy it, same with other applications.
4. Reflector2 won't let you start and stop and continue recording as Screencast-o-matic does.
5. Reflector2 and Quicktime won't let you record anything other than what's on the iPad, so I can't include iMovie maker
6. Screencast-o-matic can't record what Reflector2 projects on the laptop screen
I'm not sure if everyone will have the same struggles, but if you're a newbie like myself, this may help save some of your time.
